Lamentations 3:22-23
“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” (NKJV)
Reflection
Every sunrise is a quiet testimony to the faithfulness of God. Jeremiah wrote these words while surrounded by sorrow, yet he deliberately fixed his attention upon the unchanging character of the Lord. Circumstances may fluctuate from joy to grief, but God's compassion never runs dry. His mercy is not recycled from yesterday nor borrowed from tomorrow. It is fresh for today.
Believers often carry yesterday's failures or tomorrow's fears. The Lord invites us instead to receive today's grace. He supplies strength for the present moment, wisdom for today's decisions, and comfort for today's burdens. This daily dependence teaches us to walk by faith instead of self-sufficiency.
When you awaken tomorrow, remember that before your feet touch the floor, God's mercy is already waiting. His faithfulness has gone before you. Trust Him one day at a time, and you will discover that He never fails those who place their confidence in Him. This does not mean every day will feel easy. It means that no day arrives without sufficient grace from the Lord. Instead of trying to carry an entire week, month, or year at once, receive what God provides for this moment. His compassion is dependable, His promises remain true, and His strength will meet you again when tomorrow becomes today.
Practical Application
- Begin the day by thanking God for His new mercies.
- Release yesterday's failures to Christ.
- Trust God with one concern instead of worrying about the future.
- Encourage another believer with God's faithfulness.
- End the day recalling ways God answered prayer.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You that Your mercies are new every morning. Help me depend upon Your grace today instead of my own strength. May my life reflect confidence in Your unfailing faithfulness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
